Two and a half years ago my brother suffered his seventh sports related concussion. His trauma greatly effected his quality of life and taught me about the true severity of this condition as well as how misinformed the general public are about it. I felt it was my responsibility to help educate others about the dangers of concussions in the best way I knew how: photojournalism. I submitted a photo of my brother recieving treatment to Nikon's national competition where it was deemed the winner over 14,000 other images. The contest lead to my involvement in Nikon's I Am Generation Image campaign where I was given a nationwide platform to educate the public on the danger of concussions through my images.
